The Story So Far…
In his house at R’lyeh, Cthulhu waits not dead but dreaming. Meanwhile his cultists pave the way for his return, through unholy rituals that rend the walls between realities.
Now enemy cultists are about to clash, and the time has come to destroy your rivals’ sanity – or go mad trying. Battles are fast and brutal – whittling down the very mind of the cultists to the delight of Great Cthulhu himself.
Name: Cthulhu Dice
Ages: 8 and up
Playing Time: ~5-10 minutes
Type: Dice / Fast Game
Theme: Cthulhu Mythos / Horror
Cthulhu dice is a fast-paced die-rolling game about rival cultists. Swing at the sanity of your rivals and try to keep your wits. Stay sane a bit longer than the rest and you’ve won the war – go mad with everybody else and Cthulhu wins!
Cultists roll a cool custom 12-sided die, embossed with Yellow signs, tentacles, Elder Signs, and more. Break down the walls of your rivals’ sanity, or steal it for yourself.
In the middle of the mad chanting and hex slinging is Great Cthulhu – when he shows up, things get a little more crazy for everyone!
The Method in the Madness
Sanity and Madness are recurring themes in Cthulhu Mythos games, in Cthulhu dice, the are represented by 18 glass Sanity marbles. As you try to stay sane and drive the other cultists crazy, the marbles represent your mental state – lose all your marbles and you go mad.
The last “sane” cultist wins . . . unless everyone goes mad together. Then Cthulhu wins!
The game comes with a compact instruction manual, a cool custom D12 with Lovecraft Mythos Markings and 18 sanity marbles. This content makes for a small game, but an excellent tool to integrate into any other Mythos games!
- Fast, compact and inexpensive game.
- Easily integrated into any Cthulhu RPG or board games
- Works with Munchkin Cthulhu (thanks to a cool Promo Card)
- Game consists of a single die, so there’s not much to it…
- Gameplay is repetitive and games are over very quickly.
3/5 – Good Game!
